How I Make Money Listening to Music
I love music so much... love getting paid to listen to it even more
Historically, one of my favorite ways to make money as a couch potato has been listening to music. Up until recently there were a few services that would pay you to rate potential radio hits, but they have disappeared with the great whatever economic insanity of the 2020s. Ugh!
But there’s some good news… it’s still possible to make a little bit of money rating music from the comfort of your couch. In fact I did it this morning already, and the morning is young.
The one service I still know to get paid rate songs is called Audiokite, and you can find it on Mechanical Turk (mturk). So if you haven’t been accepted to (or applied to) Mechanical Turk yet, you will have to wait until you have an active mturk account. But once you do, search for those Audiokite hits! The pay on them ranges, but I made .34 cents for each song I rated this morning, and more importantly, I really loved all the songs I listened to.
Audiokite also will give you a link to check out an artist’s music more if you like them. I’ve found this is a great way to discover new indie musicians … the type that may even have free concerts near me!
Another way I found to get paid to listen to music is Cloud Research. Cloud is simply a platform for taking academic studies, and I’ve found two studies this week already that involve listening to some of my favorite music. It’s considered poor form to spill the secrets of academic studies ahead of time, but let’s just say goal achieved of getting paid to listen to music!
Have you figured out a way to get paid to listen to music? I don’t want to say I’m all ears - but I really am. Drop me a line and let me know.
